Short version: you can read this entire site without an account, and doing so stores nothing on your device. We don't use tracking cookies and we don't sell anything about you.
Reading the site
Browsing sets no cookies and writes nothing to your browser's storage. We measure which pages are read using analytics that keeps its identifier in memory for the length of your visit and never writes it to your device, so there is no cookie banner to click — there is nothing to consent to. Your IP address is used to derive an approximate country and is then discarded rather than stored against the visit.
A consequence worth knowing: we cannot tell a returning visitor from a new one, and we don't try to.
If you create an account
An account stores your email address, your name, and — if you sign in with Google, Twitch, or TikTok — the account identifier that provider returns. Signing in sets a session cookie. That cookie is strictly necessary to keep you signed in and is not used for tracking or advertising.
Accounts exist so you can follow creators and receive notifications. We record which creators you follow and which notifications you've read. Nothing else.
If you subscribe to the newsletter
We store your email address and which page you subscribed from, so the list can be segmented by interest. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list. We don't pass your address to anyone else.
If you click a buy link
Outbound links to retailers go through a redirect on this site so we can count the click. We record the gear item and the retailer — not who clicked. The retailer then applies its own cookies and privacy policy, which we don't control.
Who else sees your data
Three processors, and only what each needs to do its job:
- PostHog — product analytics. Receives which pages are viewed and an approximate country. No cookies, no device storage, no persistent identifier.
- Sentry — error monitoring. Receives technical details when something breaks: the error, the page it happened on, and your browser type. Session recording is switched off, so it never sees what you do on a page.
- MailerLite — newsletter delivery. Receives your email address, only if you submit the signup form.
Creator names, gear, and quotes shown on this site are public statements by public figures, gathered from their own published videos and posts, and every one links back to its source.
Your choices
